Camshaft opinions
My car is stock Except for cold air intake, air foil, and metal intake bellow.
It is a 6 speed with 342's in the rear
i do not have headers. yet... i have 3inch pipe -manifolds- back (stupid, i know), no cat, 40 series muffler.
The cam i am thinking of choosing is Crane 227: (210/224 .511/.553 112lsa) w/1.6RR's
I am going to call Summit or Comp and have a kit put together with proper springs and roller rockers. I want to know from the expierienced what you thinnk of this cam choice for a stock application. i chose it because of the low shift point, be it my rotating assembly is stock. My fear is that it is to small and it may be a waste of time and money to go so small.
i know our heads are restrictive when i comes to the exhaust side, and this cam seems to compensate well for that. Ive also read that many people hate the LT4 hot cam. This cam is smaller than that, so thats does not sit well with my decision.
Any input will be greatly appriciated, but i do not have alot of money so budget minded segestions would be extra awsome.
Get some headers or your power will be quite limited. Also don't let summit spec a kit for you. Comp will be fine as long as they don't spec a cam for you too.

That is a nice mild cam, with manifolds and good tuning it might even be mistaken for stock.
That said most of us go a lot bigger even with a stock rotating assembly.

Ok i think im going to look for a bit bigger cam, im also going to talk to LE and get there opinion. and after i did some reading on Comp Cams and got mixed opinions on there suggestions and specifications. I guess rpm ranges for Lt1's are never accurate? found that strange, and correct me if im wrong. But Il look into a different provider.
