how much with these mods help?

how much with these mods help? I have a friend with a 94 lt1 camaro.
his current mods are 2800 stall, k&n, cutout, 3:73's and his best is a 8.59 in the 1/8
he is getting longtube headers and the lt4 hotcam. how much will these to mods help him out. what should his car run now?
also since his car is an auto will it have idle problems with the hotcam on stock tuning? if so can pcmforless take care of it? thanks for the help

any torque converter stalled 2800 or up will give you a noticably better launch. K&N is good if it's an FIPK, airfilters alone don't do much at all. Cutouts are your friend, you'll get good amounts (10-15 RWHP) of easy hp out of them, especially ona stock car. 3.73s are perfect drag strip gears for a 4L60E.
As for longtubes, make sure he does Jet Hot LTs. By far the best available on the market (not counting custom made headers), a hotcam is a decent mod but a comp 305 is better for his app (305 is 220/230, and I think the hotcam is only like 218/226)... if he wants real power, tell him to do a valvetrain overhaul (dual coil springs, 1.6RR, etc) and a Comp 306 cam (230/244 with lots more lift)
