Default WS6 airbox/MAF question

I recently bought a WS6 airbox that included the bellow and airbox to MAF seal for my non ram air TA. Was there a MAF extension for the WS6 cars that ill need to relocated the MAF when I install the box and ram air hood? Thanks,

There is a small seal between the airbox and MAF then you can get a fernco coupler from HD from the MAF to the TB like I have.

I believe some aftermarket kits need/supply one, but from what I've seen with oem stuff, you should be okay.

I bought my MAF extension cable from Summitt for ~ $25 IIRC. that was 3 years ago. since the clip that holds the fuel lines to the TB cover was broken a long time ago, i popped the connector that connects the MAF extension cable to the old MAF cable in there. it popped right in.

the cable can be seen better in this pic

Did the WS6 car have a MAF extenshion from the factory? Reason being is i bought this air box and the seller originally said it would include a MAF extenshion. When i got it, it didn't have the wire. When i called the seller and asked him about it he said he was mistaken and that there were no MAF extenshions. If infact the WS6 cars did come with the extenshion ill call him back and ask him to double check for it on the car so if he does find it he can then mail it to me.

I'm not 100% but i think they did. IIRC the seller of my box said he was keeping the MAF extension cable for something he was working on.

FWIW if you are still running AIR, the tube is different for the WS6 vs non WS6. This can be easily remedied by buying some heater hose and an extension barb to extend the non ram air one. i believe the size was 3/4.

here is how i fixed mine.

You had me curious so I just looked at mine. Looks like SLP put a MAF extension of about 8-9 inches. Just plugs in the factory harness.

So yes, there is a factory extension harness for the MAF.

Does anyone have the part number for summit's MAF extension? If they still have them?

I have a spare one, but my gf hasn't decided yet whether she wants to get a SS hood for her 95Z28 or to just use CAI or LS1 lid. I'll try to get her to make her mind up if you will PM and remind me. Wouldn't it be cool if there was a way to run one along with the "turbo" style hoods that came on 3rd Gen Formulas and earlier 3rd gen TAs?

an SS airbox doesn't move the MAF at all.
