Still having oil pressure problems

^^^ I agree, I would investigate a little further for sure before you come to that conclusion.
I dis-assembled my motor over the weekend to see what wet wrong. The pick-up tube bolts were still tight, so I know it wasn't a repeat of my last problem.
All the main bearings were down to the copper, and the #3 & 4 main bearing were 100% dry. Not a drop of oil to be found on them. The rod bearings were not in good shape, but much better than the mains. Near as I can tell, my Melling "select" pump flat out failed, I haven't found any evidence to support any other theories thus far

Well I decided to figure it out once and for all. Ran it up to 7k and the oil pressure in my gauge pod never budged so it appears I have a bad oil pressure sensor for the gauge cluster.

my guess is that the last time the motor or tranny was installed the oil pressure sending unit got damaged, if you feel behind the intake i am thinking that the plastic of the sending unit is busted away from the metal
