Default Fuel gauge fluxuates

Does anyone's fuel gauge move around excessively when turning left/right or accelerating/stopping? My car has been doing this since I bought it 5+ years ago and it's starting to annoy me.I assume the baffles inside the tank are either not working right or missing.

This makes me want to just buy a whole new custom fuel tank from Nasty Performance. Really all I need is a double pumper kit to support my next power level goal, which would work with my stock tank but I won't be satisfied if the gauge still moves around.

I was also curious if I can use a LS1 fuel tank. I think I have heard of people using them, but can't remember. Thanks.

Its normal. All the cars I have owned have done it. Its just when the gas slushes around it moves the float. BTW a tank from a ls1 car won't make a difference, my buddy has a 00' TA and the gauge moves around like that also.

My friends 02 SS never did it. I'm talking going from Full to Empty by making a simple turn.

mine isnt that exagerated but if i have like 1/2 tank going straight and if i turn it will go to either full or empty depending which way i turn.

Yeh maybe I was exaggerating. Your scenario sounds more accurate to mine.

So I guess it is normal...

Yeah that's completely normal. Our fuel gauges are not very accurate due to the shape of the tank
