Default Valvetrain in Winter..

I was wondering what everyone's theory or opinion, is on winter storage of your LT1, far as the valvetrain is considered? I know some guys back off the rockers, to relieve the pressure/stress off of the valve springs, and lifters. Or do you go out and start it every couple weeks, to get the engine up to temperature and get the fluids moving(also keeps the battery up)??

Anyone?

I cant see any benefit backing the rockers off because the lifters will normally bleed down in time which would accomplish a similar goal. Also cant see the benefit being worth the PITA of resetting the rockers.

I would just start the thing up a once or twice a week and call it good.

Whenever I put an engine in storage, I always back the rockers off. If you start the engine once every two weeks you should be fine, but make sure to let the engine reach normal operating temp each time.

My car has been sitting for 3 months. At worst I may have to charge the battery before I drive away. My motor sat for 5 years before it was installed, that was 10 years ago.

My car just sits. I'll throw the battery in it come march/ April and it will fire right up. Do an oil change with a good wash and wax and I'm ready to go.
