Will a ported intake work with stock exaust manifold? I bought a stock ported an polished intake manifold and i was wondering will it work with no headers.. I still have stock exaust manifolds.
You want the intake ports to be slightly smaller then the heads ports. If they are larger, the incoming air will smash into the lip of the cylinder head ports.
I would wait to install it until you get headers. Stock LT1 manifolds are terribly restrictive.

A ported intake isnt going to yield much of any kind of benefit without having a need for more air. And like Puck said, if the intake runners are bigger than the intake ports on the heads, you will have a HUGE air restriction. Same concept as people trying to "gasket match" intakes to heads, to get rid of any turbulence between them.
