At that power level there is no reason you should be spinning badly. Get a decent set of tires (You wouldn't even absolutely need drag radials, just a good street tire with some tread would work).

If you have stock suspension, your traction problems are most likely coming from your 2" drop. Get some Lower Control arm relocation brackets and throw them on, that should take care of your issue. You may also need adjustable Lower control arms. There's no reason a 13 second car can't dead hook.

I sure have. And youre full of **** .

They are strong out of the hole and mediocre on top. I've also raced many of them
A lot of times they get me out of the hole, and I run them down and pass them like they're sitting still.

Maybe compared to your car they pull hard on top, but they are strongest out of the hole, and mediocre the rest of the way.

I think it would be a good race with a good launch from both.

I have an 06 STI my wife drives daily and it ran 13.4@105 bone stock. We have not had it to the track since we did a turbo back exhaust, CAI and tune, but it runs hard now. The cars surely pull hard down low and mid range, but with a stock turbo tapper off up top.

Exactly. Now if you drive a sti evi etc with a bigger turbo, it starts to feel more of a topend monster.

A lot like cam selection on a V8

And the only reason i cant hook is because of my shitty tires. So once i get a new set i think i will be golden.

And everyone i ask tells me not to spray...but you all say to spray? haha

I would rather go with a custom cam

has your friend practiced launching it yet? if not i think you have a decent shot at making him feel like a tool. i have watched EVOs and STIs get clowned from a dig just because they assumed AWD + manual transmission = effortless win. <- at least here in florida anyway

No he hasn't, he has hardly practiced speed shifting so thats a huge advantage on my part.

People spray these cars all the time. Lots of people run up to 150 shots, some even more.

Do you have LCA relocation brackets? If not, you'll want them.

You said you don't have money for a stall, but you want a cam? You know you have to buy more than just the cam itself, right?

Traction may suck, but autos are made to dig. Do a couple races, but start with the dig. Don't do a roll unless you blow the tires off from a dig (maybe feather it out of the hole instead of the foot through the floor method).
