Default horible vibration

at about 4 thousand rpms it gets a horrible vibration wether im in nutural or in gear(less noticable when in gear). at first i thought the engine was starving for fuel because i thought the injectors were cloged up(car sat for five months only getting started once a week) so i just changed them out today and its still makeing a horrible vibration. also the motor mounts are fine but im starting to think it might have something to do with the clutch cuz i got it replaced about two months ago. what do you guys think

Since you had the clutch replaced more than likely that's the problem. If not the crankshaft balancer could be going bad, which will also cause vibration.

SS RRR an auto trans doesn't have a clutch, even my wife knows that....

Yep. Should have read more carefully. Thanks for pointing that out.

I would suggest not driving it until you find out the source of the vibration. Is the clutch the only thing you've done? Any other mods? I take it this vibration just now started or has it been there since the install of the clutch?

there is no balancer on an LT1 car, its a dampaner. Im putting my money on the flywheel. Did you have it replaced? The crank shafts in these cars are balanced nuetrel in the front and by the flywheel in the back. Some more info would be great!

What is getting the clutch done? What did you or who ever do to it?

lol i had a shop replace every thing clutch pressure plate flywheel and im starting to suspect the shop because i had them replace the master and slave cylinder while they were working on it and i bled the brakes when i changed the pads and there was more air than fluid in the lines. i geuss thats what happens when you take it to a small shop. but what would be wrong with the flywheel/clutch in particular

There's two ways to go about this, either take it back and tell them about the vibration or tear into it yourself. Either way, it's not a good idea to start the engine anymore until it's fixed. I would suspect the flywheel is loose.

If it's only been a couple months take it back, you should have at least a 90 day warranty on the labor, maybe more.

Depends on your abilities. It's not really difficult per se if you have the correct means to remove it. If you do a search I'm sure there's a write up somewhere on how to remove the trans.

My money is on the flywheel, trans mount, and or the driveshaft. I had a brutal vibration when cruising at 70+mph on the why i switched out the stock steel one for an aluminum ls1 driveshaft and now have very little vibration. Best 100 bucks ive spent on the car haha.
