93's came with a 4l60. Do some research on t/v cable adjustment. It may be stuck or not adjusted properly. The cable connects to the bottom of the throttle body and should have no slack, if it does the valve is stuck. It should spring back. Proper adjustment is critical. Google 700r t/v cable. If you can't fix it via the cable you have a more serious problem.

Once you've ruled out the t/v cable check the governor, the teeth may be worn or missing.

Cheapest fix would probably be a junkyard transmission installed yourself, unless you know your way around inside a 700R4.

Best fix would be to buy a built trans from one of the vendors here like FLT or someone.

A used one may last 10years but will likely last a season...get it freshend up or get a lightly built one
like this for around $600 -----> http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/700R4...Q5fAccessories
and add one of these

I said stuck t/v= free,, or a bad governor = $35.00. I would have those checked before having it rebuilt.

My last camaro had the check ***** blasted all the way thru the spacer plate when I took the valvebody off to do a shift kit. It was still shifting fine. I'd run away from that trans shop real fast.
