this thing looks killer, i will most definitely be ordering one from you once you get good real time results, im about to purchase a supercharger and the opti was the weak link in determining weather i built up my lt1 or went the lsx route but this has shed new light on my lt1 i love that thing. dare to be different

Wicked - It's obvious these are laser cut...I'm a sheet metal engineer, and I work with lasers every day. It looks like these parts were cut with oxygen as an assist gas, which leaves a layer of black oxide on the cut edges. This oxide will flake off eventually, and could cause some issues with your sensors and leave a pile of junk in the housing.
It would be a good idea to make sure these are cut with nitrogen in the future, in order to alleviate the oxide layer from occuring.
Do you know what kind of laser these are being cut on? Some aren't all that accurate, I was just curious.

It may be, but using a waterjet to cut material this thin is likely to warp the material from the force of the water. The best option is to nitrogen cut with a good industrial laser.
I know the guys at EmblemPros use a Trumpf laser, which is an awesome piece of machinery. Last time I was on the phone with them, I asked about getting some steel stuff cut. They're pretty open to custom cutting anything you want.

It was actually done on a waterjet, can't tell you the manufacturer because I don't know. These are just the "prototypes" and were done with a tip that had some hours on it. It was kind of an experiment for the company doing the work for me, as they weren't sure what kind of tolerances they could hold it to. The most runout was .006" on one of the big wheels, airgap will end up at .015" or thereabouts so 6 thou is negligible to me. If/When I do a big run of these (50+) we'll do it with a fresh tip for essentially 0 taper on the cut and smaller runout tolerances. Both the company doing the work and I were impressed. I'm not super familiar with any sort of sheetmetal cutting but hopefully you can get the gist

My car is skipping like crazy right now, and I can't park it at the moment. I thought I had found the problem yesterday when I checked all my wires and one tested completely dead. I replaced it, but it didn't change anything. Maybe my ohm meter didn't get a good contact and the wire was good afterall. The coil and ICM are fine too. Is there any possible way I could buy a pre-production unit and provide some guinee pig testing? I work at a GM dealership in parts, so I have access to some pretty nice testing equipment and I have a friend who uses Datamaster for logging and TunerCats. My car is a 97 but converted to 95 PCM and knock sensor. I can easily swap back to OBD2 since I kept the original pcm and ks if that would help with testing any. I know you aren't ready to release these for production, but I sure don't want to buy an opti now, only to have yours available in a few months. Either way, you can still count me in for at least one of the first. Possibly 3.

I guess I'll get a cheapo or used replacement somewhere to get me by, but I'm not going to give Chandler my business. I would have right up until his "when pigs fly" post in your thread. Maybe it was meant as a joke....idk....but it definately rubbed me the wrong way and was very unprofessional. I know everyone makes little cracks at each other on here, and that's all fun and games, but to me it looked like more than that and his replies when called out on it didn't set well with me either.

Who are you to tell me to of someone else's thread? My choice to not buy from someone who put down this product before it has even been produced has nothing to do with the thickness of my skin. As I said above, maybe I took it the wrong way. Either way....there are way more sellers of cheap optis to use as a temporary replacement for me to give any of my money to Chandler.
