EVO 8 need help

EVO 8 need help Ok i got a 94 ta its the very base modle with the 2:73 gear and top speed limiter, I have flowmaster muffler and a high flow cat and im going to put on a cut out and msd ignition, Last night i raced a evo three times and its stock and killed me every time??? im not a shity driver or anything but i couldnt hang wit him ,he killed me off the line adn just pulled on me what do i need to beat this guy i gotta livewit the fact i lost to it to all my buddys help here please( im getting a 100 shot soon but i wanna beat him n/a any imput???)
See sig, I walked an evo from 70-90 (he just shut down, I was walkin him). I had a good 2-3 cars on him in that short of a race, and to make it even worse, it was in my dead spot. It would have gotten alot uglier alot quicker.... They only trap about 100mph best stock, their only advantage is off the line.

Nothhing to be ashamed about man. Those are fast cars. I raced one last summer and it surprised the hell out of me. I pulled him up to about 75 or so, but after that he wasn't fading in the mirror much at all. Get a set of headers and cold air, gears would help too. You'll be amazed how much of a difference headers and cold air induction will make on our cars.

yea, I have two friends with EVO's. One actualy had a 95 Z28 and he got rid of it for the evo. But both of them have intakes and manual boost controlers and let me tell you those things are FAST. My car is prety much stock and I raced my buddy when his EVO were stock and I didnt stand a chance , especialy off the line. But like speed demon said a lot of their advantage is off the line. The same friend raced another kid we know with a 96 maxima and didnt lauch it and the maxima was neck and neck all through first gear and some of second. But I think full exaust and a 100shot would definately put you over a stock EVO.
