Okay been doing a little research about the 2 converters and its kinda mixed reviews between the "looseness" of the converters. Have 3.73's in the back
any one ran both of them and able to compare them? and if one is "looser" then the other to what extent is it??
Thanks guys

Which series Yank?
The SS are known to be tighter then a similarly rated Vigi, and are one of the tightest and most streetable stalls, but the PT yanks will be quite a bit looser.
Cannot say to what extent since I have never personally driven a Vig stalled auto to compare, but the SS3200 Yank was way tighter then my 3200 Fuddle, which my tuner said felt more like a 3400.

I use Edge and am really happy, they are less expensive because they don't have the billet cover but I didn't need a billet cover. If for some reason I were going to choose another 9.5" lockup converter it would be a Yank or a Vigilante. They all work well and it seems the one that works best for guys is the one they bought most recently because it was built based on the "shortfalls" of their last one and converter technology is always improving.

I have nothing but good things to say about both Yank and Vig. I've owned a few of each, as well as three other competing brands, Edge, Coan, and ATI, which have been good as well.
There is nothing that will compare with the Yank SS series for driveability while still flashing to the advertised stall rpm for performance at the track. My Yank SS3600 drives slightly better than a Vig 3000 I recently got rid of. The previous generation of Yank 9-1/2" street converters drove virtually identical to the present generation of Vig converters.
With all Vig and Yank converters I've run on the dyno, locked versus unlocked runs were all within less than 1% hp difference. With the Edge 3400 I behind my stock motor, the difference was 16%; it ET'd almost as good as the Yank SS3600, but mph was down by 2 to 3 unless I locked it 200-300 ft before the traps. That Edge converter later went into a buddy's mild heads/cam car that had 500 more rpm capability than my stocker, and it was much happier there.
Since you scored that Vig 36 for a good deal, I'd stick with it. In a light F-body, I think you'll be happy with it.
