I have a Joe O spec'd LT1 billet erson solid roller cam for sale if you are interested. The specs are
257 266 @.050 106lsa .640 lift intake and exhaust with 1.6 rockers. I have the exact figures if you are interested. The cam was installed but never used as I went a different route with the engine. $200 shipped.

T oanswer your question. It will need to be LT1 specific cam as I believe the front of the cam is a little different.

You can use a traditional SBC roller cam. You'll just have to get it machined for the optispark. The cam I have is a mild Cam Motion cam. Specs are 248/250 .650/.610 on a 112 lsa.

thats part of the reason for stepping down in cam the 265 273 @ .050 cam is to big for what i want to do with the car. that and the 2 bolt block even with ARP bolts i don't think will like to be shifted 7500 + like the heads and cam will want.

newbie question i guess, whats the advantages to going solid roller?
valvetrain? do the lifters collapse or something?
if so i thought theyre were companies out there making stronger parts for high revs?

Not at all. In that case all you need is a roller cam (cam that uses a cam plate to stay in place).

Stud mount. IMO I don't think shaft mount is necessary unless going over 7000rpm.

Able to run a far more aggressive lobe and the valvetrain will remain stable.

The front of the cam needs to be back cut for the retaining plate in on the block. You cant use a cam button on these motors. So I'd say no.

3.25 sounds like a 9" gear for sure... I'd be swapping that out in a hurry

If you're looking to buy a LT1 specific solid-roller, I've got one for sale thats pretty close to what your looking for. Specs are 248/255 @.050, .640/.652 lift, 106 lsa. PM me for more info if you're interested.
