Power source when engine is running only

Power source when engine is running only Is there a relay that gets triggered only when engine is running?
I want to wire the EWP so that it runs when the engine is running, with also the ability to turn it ON and OFF manually with a switch.

Fuel pump? Not sure if this would work or not, but the fuel pump is turned on and remains on with the key in the run position...

I think the fuel pump does run only as the engine is started although it does turn on for 2 seconds when key is in ON position then turns off so that might work. But im not sure you would want to tap into the power from it,it may draw to many amps for the relay and could possible fry the wiring,the fuel and water pump all in one shot. But that just my 2 cents and I'm not 100% sure. I want to know how aswell if anyone else is doing it without issue. I have a csr pump being shipped as we speak.

You wouldn't want to run the main power wire to the pump from any other source and take a chance on overloading that circuit. You would simply use that source to trigger the relay, then have its own dedicated power source to the battery...

IIRC I used the abs relay and fuse location and just repined it. Used the original power source of the key in the on passion. It's only on with the key in the on position but the engine doesn't have to be running. That way I can still let it cool the fluid down with engine off. It has a manual cut off switch as well as my fans. Works great for in between runs.
I would just tap into an ignition + source that is on when the key is on. It won't hurt anything if the pump engages a few seconds before the car is actually fired.
Why not use the fuel pump wire to trigger a relay for the ewp? This way it wont burn up the already weak fuel pump circuit. It will come on for a few seconds with the fuel pump to prime then shut down.
Yup, grab it from the alternator. That's how remote car starts disengage the starter once the engine fires.
