So swap harnesses. ALOT cheaper than doing a full on ls1 swap when you factor in that the trans, and K member will have to be adapted as well.

Why would you want to swap an LS1 harness onto an LT1 engine? That's not only pointless, but stupid and impossible as well.

What's the problem with your harness?

The ls1 harness adapted to the lt is not impossible. Check out efi connection. Running the ls harness and pcm has numerous advantages over the lt pcm.

I'm talking minimal to no modifications.

Either way it has advantages, granted most would not be usefull on a stock to mild engine, but they are still there. I agree in asking what's going on with the original harness first but swapping is always an option, albeit not the first thing I would do either ;-)

So a guy could do an ls pcm conversion himself by swapping the harness and such? I know its not as easy as just plugging it in, but it wouldn't be much different than setting it up for an ls motor in an lt car, would it?

I think it is worth going to a iron block if you are on a budget, but to try to sell the LT is tough, as for the harness I think you could do the kit with the distributor and and most of the sensors might work out, but the best is to run a aftermarket harness, i have had a couple of done for sandrail project and they run about $300 if you can find a harness to have redone
