Default misfire

well got another problem with the car seems like this car has been nothing but problem since i bought it well here we go i was driving to drop my sons backpack off to him car ran fine had no problem when i get there i left it running went and dropped the backpack talked about a min or 2 when i got back in the car i went to back up and noticed that it was missing when i gave it gas i thought maybe it will clear up but when i got on the highway going home it still missed like crazy but only when i would give it gas not when i would cruise or when it would sit at ideal i have no check engine light or codes at all ive done the plugs and wires about a week and half ago ive changed the iac and tps iat and map sensor the reason i changed the map sensor was because when i would drive it for about a hour or so it would die and i would have to wait a min to start it agian i pulled the codes for that and the map sensor was saying the car was going lean and would kill the car anyways any help would really be nice if i keep having problems with this car im just going to part it out and try to buy another one also when i was looking at the opti when i was under the car it seemed to be pretty new

so went out to my car and started it in the dark to see if i could see or hear any arcking could not see or hear any all i heared was the rockets clattering any ideas what else to check i noticed that the opti is all black not black and brown like the ones ive seen any ideas any help with this please

ok guess im getting no help on this i will pull plugs and wires tomorrow and see if any of them fowled

what kind of plugs and what did you gap them at?

ac delco they were gapped at .55

Well took the day off and pulled wires looks like the the wires was burnt from being to close have contact with the header

burnt? you probably didnt run them through the compartment the right way. make sure you run them through correctly or else this will happen almost everytime if not everytime. it was probably the most annoying part for me when replacing the plugs and plug wires. but once you get a method of running them through its fairly easy

i got it figured out another way it was the 7th plug wire and yeah i ran it wrong but this time i did a completely diffrent way and if it messes up again i got a life time warranty on the wires anyone know how much taylor or msd wires are

msd's are probably around 120 or so, depending on where you get them. Taylor's i have no clue on but i havent heard good things about them, so i would stick with msd's.

OK were go I get the wire splitets that connect to valve cover bolts so I can run the wires over the valve covers

umm i think jegs or summit have them. they are called Over The Valve Cover....otvc for short.
