I know a fully optioned Z28 in 93 was something like $17k. So, $19ish may be what they cost brand new by 96. But yes OP i agree, they've hit their head or something.

You should see the Impalas, everyone and their brother bought one to flip down the road for profit, so they turn up regularly with under 3000 miles many down around 1000 and they want $35K or sometimes more. Now those cars sold for about $25k new, if the crack smokers actually got $35k figure finance charges, insurance, whatever else it cost to store a car for 10 years, then inflation and the FACT the car is a pretty POS that everything is going to go wrong with and they would still be losing their ***, they don't get $35k for them though, seems IF they sell atall it is more like $25k.

Guessing the sticker for that car in 1996 was about 23-24K. The sticker on my 95 vert was $27K.

You are correct on the sticker price. My 96 was $24k. My car only has 34000 miles, I wish I could get half there asking price. LOL Of course mine has been molested just a little bit. They are way too high IMO.

Is yours loaded? Mine had power locks/windows/Bose and was right around 18 or 19K.

I believe the reference was to 3rd gen Z28's since that is what you seem to claim. How about those figures as well as links for PROOF.
