Power wash LT1 no spark
Alright well heres the story, I had traded my 92 5.0 mustang for this trans am because it was my dream car. Its a 93 Trans Am M6 with 105000 miles on it and has all the records of everything done to it. So i traded the guy for it. He told me that it ran before he power washed the engine and he was tired of trying to fix it. He said that he changed the optispark, coil, and icm. They are all new and i can confirm that, but the car gets no spark out of the coil pack. My brother and I checked to see if it was getting power to the icm and coil and it is. We checked if the opti is sending a signal to the injectors and it is. Im still confused on how its not getting spark. Help is much appreciated. Also i followed this tut http://www.mainstreamtopics.com/foru...rt-diagnostic/ with no luck.
I would love to get this car running thanks!

maybe you got a bad opti, even though it is brand new it might be defective. i bought a brand new opti from summit and i ripped all my engine apart and put the new one on and i had to rip it all back down to send back due to it being defective, PITA.

When it happened to me, replaced my icm and still didn't work. Replaced the entire ignition system, and Nada. My car went thru icms like oil changes. Best bet is try pulling one off someone's running car, Ive got bad ones from the parts store before. The shbox write up works wonders tho.

I have a box of spare 93/94 optis and opti parts sitting in my garage that I'll never use if you're interested.
I have at least two complete ones in there that I know are good.
I went with the EFI Connections kit instead.

Just take the damn thing out, take it apart and dry all the parts off! THEN put it back together, install in the car and you should back in business, also make sure all the other electrical parts are dry too, ask me how I know!
And don't do this again! OK? OK!

re: power washing a LT1 engine
I power washed my 94 Camaro Z28
After that it would not start.
Acted like Timing was off.
I have had this problem before with small block Chevy's, and pulled the distributor cap shot some WD-40 in it, PROBLEM SOLVED.
On LT1 can't do!!
So when this happened on my Z28 I took a hair drier layed it above the distributor so it blew on the top of distributor, let run blowing hot air on distributor for about 1.5 hr.
Then layed it under distributor on top of steering linkage to blow about 2 hr on bottom of distributor. PROBLEM SOLVED started right off!!
