What is a good few things to do that will be beneficial and support later adding a cam? I am guessing I will have to pull the engine for a cam?

buy my springs and lifters Everything you do on the top end will benefit you sooner or later... You can definitely tear the engine down to the shortblock with the motor in the car... not on my favorite things to do list but it's not too bad.

I did head gaskets with motor in the car, So I say do the springs/rockers and leave the motor in.
