Default Need an opinion....

Hey guys I've been slowly modding my car with the basic bolt on's Functional Ram-Air Box, LT's, ORY, LM1, 3:73's, !EGR, !AIR, !ABS, TB bypass, and MT Drag radials.

My question is, i'm saving up for my LE2 setup for next winter and until then I was curious if I could just go ahead and get my 1.6 RR's and put them on the stock springs and pushrods for now until next winter when I do the complete Cam, heads, springs etc. I want to get the most out of it this summer until I tear it down again next winter. Are the stock springs strong enough for the 1.6's? or should I just wait and do it all at once? I understand they are pretty weak springs and I don't want to ruin anything before I tear it down again.
Car has 104K of hard racing under it's belt but it runs flawlessly.

Thanks

Yep planned on that also. So if I wanted to be cheap right now and not get new springs right away, would the stockers hold up? or should I not even bother?

Dont use the stock springs.

And Id be too lazy to switch rockers, pushrods and springs if I was gonna tear it down this winter.

Why do it twice? Just wait till you have everything.

What he said, the gain from 1.6s is not enough for me to tear the upper end up twice. If you do do it do not do it on the stock springs. Don't forget the valveguide seals.

Wait to do the rockers. The stock springs will not be sufficient for the 1.6rrs. Also the 1.6 rockers will change your tune. Do it once and be done with it! Just my .02 cents.

Get all the parts at once, let Lloyd install the springs, guides and studs correctly and ship them to you ready to bolt up.
I see no reason to go though this twice.

here's my shopping list from my first LE H/C install.

Haha this is why I come to you guys first before I do something stupid.
I've never set up a valvetrain on a car and don't want to screw it up so yes I would rather have lloyd do it and know that it is correct.
Thanks for the input guys!
