Will the LT4s clear the OE alternator on an F-bod LT1 without modifications?

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll have to buy a pair now.....

You'd think that after 40 years of screwing around with cars, I would have learned to leave them alone and just drive them.......

Back when I bought mine there didnt seem to be a lot of choices of valve covers. They are still one of my favorites though

qc97z: NICE SETUP! Lots of tricks here boys, take notes. The higher output LS2 coils, wrapped headers to increase exhaust gas velocity...I wonder what other tricks this setup has?

I've always liked the composite LT4 covers. I have ONE sitting on a shelf with nothing to do...

I opted for these fabricated ones over my stock LT4 composites.

Has anyone converted to perimeter bolts?
I wish I had asked Lloyd to drill perimeter bolt holes in my dart heads (they had provisions for it).
There are a lot more VC options out there for that style.

I am addicted to flames, i have had every valve cover made for my lt1 and i love my new ones the best. i have never seen anyone else with them. every time i go to the track i see canton, black vette covers ect. but everyone always ask about my covers. the breathers are billet and 2 pieces to the can be cleaned and new filters installed.

If someone could help me with how you get pictures to post in the window would be great. i keep getting a red x not the pictures

They make an adapter and Z8s has them on his car.

I have some photos of two different style valve covers that I have had on my 93 Camaro. I will put a link to my photobucket albumn if anyone wants to see them. The valve covers with the chevrolet and emblem on them are the current ones. A couple photos of our Tahoe ended up getting in there they were shots of the light snow we got this year in SW FL that I had uploaded for a friend and forgot to take out or move so just disregard them.

I ran the proforms for a long time, but the first time i took to much off the pass cover and i had to rtv to keep it from leaking, but it looked ok since the alternator was up its ***. Alot of people asked me about how i got them to work.

Thanks! I really appreciate the compliments. It didn't look like that the first time around. I had a stripped hole (from previous owner of heads) on the coolant crossover, had to drill larger and re-tap, so out came the motor. It was UGLY the first time I got the build done. On the "repair build" was where I made some good changes. Different coils and location, different wires, added the wrap, blah blah blah and the list goes on.
If you want to check out the changes, I've got a build thread on LTXTech.

On the valve covers is the ideal mounting place for the coil packs. They provide the best, cleanest wire routing possible, no extensions needed for the engine harness to get to the coils, etc.

They aren't hard to clean. a bit of window cleaner on a microfiber towel shines them right up. And they're definitely not hard to see. In person, they stand out, especially paired with the carbon fiber upper radiator support.
