On a 280rwhp car, gains were shown on a dyno of 2-2.5 hp. Thats less than 1% increase. Even on 600rwhp at 1% that would increase you to 606hp! Not worth it in my opinion! Its for broke people that want to modify their car but cant afford much!

Not if you use the "Tornado" with it! LOL Hell if it gives you piece of mind go with it. Your cash your mods. Everyone needs a starting point. Talk is cheap! Parts are not. Nothing radical but little things do add up. May not be huge but something to start with. Only a real dumb *** would dump a **** load of HP in to his ride with out getting used to it. But thats me.

Except air foils. Waste of money. Air foil on an LT1 is like a CAI on a stock Honda motor. They don't do anything. They're a conversation piece, a ricer part.

Thats why Tony Shepard has one in his right? shut up with that bull ****. The air foils is a way to steal money from the little people. I will say when i was younger and into vettes in the early 90 i bought 1 and have never since done so they are a waste of money time ect. You can run a dyno pull 3 times in a row and not come out with the same numbers.

I dont think Tony has a stock TB. Most of the aftermarket TB's have them built into them

believe what you want. and ill believe what i want.

attention to detail and all the little things combined win races and break records. imo a airfoil can only help not hurt you. i run one and i have the fastest bolt on only car in new england and one of the fastest in the world. i dont like to brag but if you must be so rude i must state my credentials.

edit: to be completley honest im actually considering a 58mm TB or a monoblade with a big gulp cai on my stock motor b4 the shootout in the fall. i believe it may net some serious gains. we shall see. (i wasnt going to post about this until the shootout but what the hell)

Wow sounds like you got the set-up. Maybe you should get an electric turbo and hide it in the front bumper as well. Then you wont even need that 58mm TB.

I wanted to bring this back from the dead. It is plausible that the wrong air foil can cause issues with seals. There is a PCV port in the top of the throttle body that goes from the valve cover to there and is supposed to allows the engine to suck that vapor and such in to be burned. To small an opening can cause pressure build up.

I lost a front crank seal and my distributor/waterpump seals are weeping.

I'm taking the airfoil off and will modify it later. I'm going to enlarge or create openings.

I recall installing my generic airfoil to see it had a tiny channel down the center for the PCV path and small area for the idle air path. Fun stuff.
