Hellfire rings 2nd ring direction help !! hey everyone here is my delema i have a set of speed pro hellfire rings and the top ring is clearly marked with the dot but second ring isn't but it is beveled talked to a few guys they said bevel down but i found the instructions just last night and it says different i wouldn't question but the guys who told me down are some of the top engine builders on here and locally chime in and let me know
UPDATE::: CALLED FEDERAL MOGUAL AND THE INSTRUCTIONS ARE WRONG!!!!! ITS BEVEL DOWN HE IS CONTACTING THE MANUFACTURING PLANT TO GET THE INSTRUCTIONS CHANGED ASAP

Bevel faces top of piston. It even says in step 2 of the isntructions you posted

A notch would face the bottom...which is probably what the guys you were talking with thought you meant.

I would always follow the manufacturers instructions since they make the product, they know how it should be installed. No offence to the "top engine builders" but if they're not following the manufacturers reccomendations then I'd be finding some new "top engine builders".

Top ring is bevel facing up and bottom ring is bevel facing down? Well mine do have dots on both of them and they do match the way I just said.
The top rings have brown paint on them correct?

i have the speed pro rings and the same set of instructions, guess its good i read this thread but now i gota take some **** back apart.. Anymore news on this?
