White smoke, why not now?
Hey guys finally pulled the camaro to my house, we started it to pull it out on the street and no white smoke? Does this only occur once the car is warmed up? Last time i attempted to run the car it was low on coolant, so we filled it with coolant and let it idle - attempted to drive it - got to a stop sign and car died - jumped the car and tons of white smoke...
I know total newb question, sorry
96 LT1 z28, pretty much stock (exhaust, intake)

Take the plugs out, pressurize the system w/ a pressure tester (can rent one at Autozone) for a few minutes, rotate the engine by hand and see if coolant starts running out of one or more cylinders. If it is a head gasket, #7 is notorious for falling victim of being coolant soaked.

Just had this happen to me. Yes once the cooling system is up to temp and fully pressurized it will show up on start up. Smell it but do what SS RRR said as well. If you smell it you will find out that it smells more like antifreeze then oil smoke. I lost head gasket on rear cylinders 7 and 8.
