like i said, gonna need nice stuff to not just make it to 7000+ without float, but actually make good power up there. nobody on here is doing it i guarantee it, if they say they are they haven't been that high on the dyno.

Thats what im thinkin, I bet they are not really safe on the stockish ltx parts. Especially if they are using 5/16" rods

Hell the promags and the lifters, many people have gone up to 7500rpm on them. BUt I would NOT with those pushrods. Valve float on all that can be very bad and I wouldn't risk that **** on my engine

what does the conversion have anything to do with how high you are spinning your motor?

260/264 .690 lift both sides on a 110. 11/32 .120 wall pushrods, short travel lifters, 210/490 spring pressure keeping it REALLY light on the valve side. Cam will be in the car along with the HSR late next week.

What rpm do you plan on running?

Mediocre parts are not gonna keep things under control enough to use the extra rpm capabilities of the 24x setup, but I'd still say its worth it for the tuneability and reliability.

My build is 25x/26x >.73x lift cam with some pretty aggressive lobes (not trying to be "secretive", I'm posting from my cell and forgot exact specs),COMP HIPPO lifters, Manton 3/8 .120 PRs, DRE 1.7 Shaftmounts, and PAC dual springs installed @1.94.

I'm hoping ~720#s open will keep things under control @ 7500+ rpms...stockish parts like thin walled pushrods won't stand a chance and the valves would be all over the place by 6500.

Shaftmounts and springs from Sikora, Lifters recommended by Llyod, Pushrods recommended to me by Wicked (I was gonna spend a lot more on Trends, he saved me some $$$!), and cam specced by Llyod. Lotsa research done and recommendations from some great people who know their **** .

Alright, now that I have the comedy out of the way, can someone please seriously explain the hydraulic roller obsession for me?

To me it (trying to make a HR rev) seems almost as boneheaded as showing up to the tx mile with aired down drag radials expecting not to blow any tires. You guys don't seem quite that dumb so, what gives?

Agreed. The 24x system has nothing to do with your valvetrain setup, how high you plan to spin your motor (unless you plan on going past the limits of the LSX pcm), or the quality of your parts.
