And what all was done to it to help it out would be nice....ie. spool, axles, girdle, etc.

I have personally seen 1.42 60fts on a stock 10 bolt and heard of someone going 1.39 in a stock bolt. BOth were stock completely except a T/A cover.

but I have seen people break them at 1.6 short times.....

My teacher at uti mooresville pulled both tires with a stock 10bolt. Don't know how either but he did 10 times or so in front of me. If I just slam second I break one

Mine spit a pinion tooth (4.10's and M6, bolt-ons only) without ever having a sticky tire on it.

Now I've got some spare parts : Moser axles, a TA girdle, and a posi because I threw a whole nother rear underneath. Unfortunately...it's still just a 7.5"

LOL.....well don't let it worry you too much. I keep hearing that 4.10's and lower are much more prone to breaking....plus mine had bad gear whine when I bought it at 80K miles up until it broke at 87K miles. Something about crushing crush sleeves causing pinion seals to leak and causing your backlash & gear pattern to get outta whack I'm sure. I've always heard that you can get a solid pinion spacer instead of a "crush" sleeve and that will add alot of strength to these, but I'd imagine it makes setting up pinion depth a pain in the behind.

I fully intend to ruin this 10 bolt "someday" and be proud of it. I'd just hate to visit the track for the very first time and not even get a pass out of her. I've got a 3500 converter BTW. Am hoping with good DR's to raise the front wheels off the ground.

either way that first attempt will all be videotaped for everyone's enjoyment ha.
hmm.....mine is the opposite. It whined LESS under power, but got louder when I let off the throttle. ??? The 3.73 rear I put in it's place is just as loud.

i know a guy that's run a **** ton of low 1.5's on the stock rear with (i think richmond?) 3.73 gears

he lifts his front drivers side wheel off the ground a couple inches. last time out he hit an 11.4. usually runs consistant 11.5's

i'm sure there's at least 50-75 passes, probably more on it

You'll notice that just about every remarkable 10-bolt 60' is on an automatic car.

That, and every "I blew up my stock piece of crap 10 bolt" is from a M6 doing 3500+ dumps.

Kinda sounds like your backlash is wrong in your rear. Shouldn't be whining.

Yep, your absolutely correct. With that said, I've got 6 years running in the 11s with my stock 10bolt, A4 and T/A cover.
