Default another site with a 8.8 solution

Hey guys

I found this site as I have a rx7 and am putting a ls1 in it. But they have some excellent info and kit about putting a 8.8 ford rear in a rx7, and I was impressed by the engineering and thought that maybe someone here might be able to use this and adapt it to our cars. The part I am thinking of is the torque arm type device they are using. I am going to contact them and see if I can buy just that part of their kit. Most of the 8.8 rear installs I have seen try to duplicate the torque arm from ours, and I don't feel they are as strong as this setup. or they are alot heavier then they need by to overengineer it. Here is the link http://grannysspeedshop.com/ Go down to where it says New 1st and 2nd gen RX-7 Solid Axle Conversion Systems and follow the link. Let me know what you think

The geometry is the hardest part of putting any other rear in F-bodies. Getting the spring pirches and control arm points and hights correct and then adapting a torque arm to connect on the housing with the pinoin angle correct. Other then that you could just use a watts link and solid mount the watts conection points for the rear housing to the rear insted of clamping them to it and that eliminates the panhard bar and any chance of the clamps from moving. Cool torque arm on that setup but I wonder if it flexes at the point in the tunnle? I have never looked at the RX's so I don't know how much strength is in the tunnel there. I guess it wouldn't hurt to have it move a little. Might actually help creat some turn in or may cause big over steer. can't really tell.

I just like the torque arn arrangement they are using. That is what I would try to reproduce when I go to a 8.8. Would think this would help with torque twisting when launching. Anyone with fabrication skills want to try? I don't weld, but have a good welder, so if I can get him to try it, that would be great.
