Default Removing the passenger's side valve cover

The car is a 95 Z28. Want to look under the right side valve cover. Noticed the cover is notched to allow the alternator to fit. Can I get the cover off without removing the alternator? Or is it easier just to remove the belt and remove it?

Just bought the car, don't know a hell of a lot about it. Has long tube headers, the throttle body says Edelbrock and BBK on it. Has a Schneider cam. .555 lift, 288, 296 duration 112 lobe separation. Has some kind of Aluminum tube with a cone shaped air filter, TH400 w/ some low stall, under 3,000 with the lever of HP it's making. Came to me with no rear axle or torque arm. Has a S-60 and UMI on it now. TH400 trans. No brake, no line lock, and no horsepower Also has a wet Nitrous kit but I am not using it.

Been fighting a miss from the get go. Thought I had it but it's still there. Found bad plug wires on 2, 4 and 5. Fixed them as good as I could and am waiting for a new set. Also fighting DTC code 42 but I'm about convinced it a BS code from having an MSD ignition.

Here is what the time card from last night says: 60' 1.776 330' 5.192

1/8 8.059 @ 85.06

1000' 10.560

1/4 12.666 @ 107.16

The reason I want to pull the valve cover is to see why I'm getting knock counts. And to see what's in there

if you have a primary hitting anywhere it will cause a false knock

Do you realize how rare your car is? There are very few Formulas and Trans Am's with 6-speed in them for 93. Hold on to it, it's worth a crap load of money already. My T/A is 1 of only 88 with T-Tops and a 6-speed!!!!!

It means what it meant.. Was getting knock and tuning wouldn't fix it .. Ended up narrowing it down to my #8 primary hitting/ vibrating on the cars frame rail..

Honestly, unless it's an LT4 Firehawk or SS, "rarity" means jack squat in terms of real world value. Your car isn't worth any more than any other 93 f-body, all things considered.

Im pretty sure he means the header tubes (primares) hitting anywhere on the frame, k-member, etc...

X2...break down options far enough on any car and it's "rare"...

Pulled both covers. Found Comp Cams Hi-Tech steel roller tipped rocker arms and who knows springs. They have two blue stripes on them

Also found a 3/8" standard bolt holding the alternator.
