what comes in these stock for an auto th350? 700r4? 40l60e?

can you hook it up to a 40l60e?

if you get one from anything else other than an f-body youll need to swap the tail housing.

no you cant hook up a 4l60e. at least not without a 94+pcm and wiring harness.

It is a 4L60. Technically the same as a 700R, but officially known as the 4L60.

ok problem right now is trany will shift fine one time i drive it anouther time it will not want to shift unless i manually go though gears? need relaced or serviced? going to be hard i think to come up with one i dont have to swap tailshaft

If your having tranny issues, its usually just a surface cut to internal bleeding. stock 700R4s have a tough time handling all the torque the LT1s put out. Best thing to do is to replace/rebuild. Sometimes its better to start fresh than to keep dumping money into a losing fight. My opinion at least. But DO NOT FORGET, you have a 5 pin TCC connector, i learned the hard way on that one.

Make sure your TV cable is set properly. if that doesn't work, disconnect the wiring harness from the pan to see if the TCC has anything to do with the problem. I don't think it would but it wont hurt anything. The car will work just fine but the TCC wont lock-up. Thats what i would try at least.

The difference in the tail housing is the f-body ones have three holes through it so you can bolt the torque arm up. Non f-bodys don't have them. There only held on to the Trans by four bolts, so if you find a non f-body Trans its an easy swap.

Try playing with your TV (kickdown) cable to see if it helps any. If not dump a bottle of Lucas in there and look for a new Trans asap! I have a 700r4 in my Nova, I've been through many 700r4's. The Lucas helps a little, just take it easy.

From what I understand there were a few 93's that came with the square 4 wire plug and they were the old 700r4's. Mine like most all of the 93's I have personally heard about or looked at came with the 5 pin round wire connector and were the 4L60. They still have the TV (Throttle Valve) cable to help control shift points depending on level of acceleration so they are not the 4L60E computer controlled version of the 4L60. I am currently rebuilding mine to handle the heavier hp load and from what I have learned if you are going to rebuild yours look for a set of 5 pinion planetaries (front and rear)and "the beast" sun shell. They are weak spots on the 700R4 / 4L60. The 5 pinion planetaries are very expensive if you get OEM or a quality OEM aftermarket. If you go to a salvage yard the 5 pinion planetaries were used in the 4L70 and 4L80 versions of the tranny usually in trucks from that year. The sun shell "The Beast" a beefier version is available new for a fairly cheap price (just don't get a chineese knock off same with planetaries). You should also get better clutch packs and steels and servos and most all of that can be bought as a rebuild kit but the planetaries and sun shell usually are not. Hope that is helpful to you.

Try changing the fluid and filter to at least see what it looks like.

93= a one year only Trans in the f body because of the plug me personally I would rebuild it and save the head achieve of trying to find another one or really wiring to get another 700r4 to work in it

As long as it's an LT1. The 700r4, 4l60 and 4l60e 30 spline work.
