Overheating. water pump?

Overheating. water pump? My car was over heating and I just changed my thermostat out to a 160 degree, and bled the lines and it ran fine, about 170 degrees for about a day and a half. After driving it for a while today it started doing what it was doing before the thermostat again, running hotter, around 180 for a while, then up to 210, and turn it off the temp sky rockets. The temp wont stay consistent either. It jumps all around. It'll run 180, then 210, the drive 55 and it starts running a little under 180. I'm thinking water pump but looking for second opinions.

Sounds like air pockets to me. Bleed it again and top it off.
Also check your coolant/water mix.
You did use an LT1 thermostat (tall), right?
Not an SBC (short)

You can tell if the pump is running by opening the radiator cap (while it's cool).
You should see a steady stream of coolant pouring in just below the opening.
Don't do this when the coolant is hot, you will make a mess and could cause nasty burns.
Also, you didn't happen to remove your airdam, did you?

My air damn is still on.
Also, I talked to my brother. He said it could be the water pump about to go out, like not pumping a lot through the system, but enough to not cause it to get super hot, is this a possibility?
