oil in pcv line

Please explain to me what is the purpose of the oil catch can and why it's better than the stock set-up. :D

Im going to do this soon, but what about all the old oily film left inside?? Seafoam it??

Shovelman, it keeps oil out of your intake and puts it in a catch can that you empty periodically.
