Oh and that was supposed to be "ship the damaged one to them" but I think both may be appropriate here. Also there are alot of other things that are no longer stock, I just meant the only other two things that I believe can be contributing to this issue. I do know the shop that initially did this work didn't know they got the wrong type of cam style because they tried putting the engine back together with the original 93 timing cover.

I've had mine on my car for 6 years with no issue other than one plug wire being a bit loose once but not enough to cause a missfire. since the same plug wire fell off on the old opti causing a missfire that lead to the cap change because we thought the cap and rotor was going out, i'm blaming it on the wire (incidently also an MSD)
MSD anything sucks ballz....for the coil run the Crane. Skip their wires too.
Cap and rotor stay GM....those azzholes can't make better coils...why would they outdo GM on a custom piece like the opti cap? which has precision internal lines known to arc at times from their close proximity...theres no way screwball msd is going to get that right. swap that pos unit out.
