So did you try getting a coat hanger metal one uncoated and use it to push the broken stick where someone else could see it and grab it with a 3 prong grabber from the drain plug hole?

Pm if this works to thank me

it is quite possible it is now in your oil pick up but blocked by the screen. if it stays there, no big deal as it can't get sucked up into the oil pump with its screen on the PU.

you could try to use a small goose neck type pen magnet through the oil drain hole or the oil level sensor hole and fish around for it.

others in the thread said they used a powerfull magnet to work it towards the drain hole

The tube isn't stuck, it's part of the actual stick...

I tried putting a telescoping magnet tool down there but no luck. I don't think there is enough room anyway (4 bolt mains).

I thought about getting a really strong magnet (suggestions on where to get one?) and running it along the oil pan to try to get it the piece of the stick near the drain plug. How strong are the magnets on our speakers anyway?

I'm worried it might be caught near the main cap though, in which case I suppose I could try poking something down there to push the stick into the pan itself?

Any other ideas? I have the canton pan btw.

i am having the same problem with a plymouth van
what i am planing to do is,to cut off the tip about 2 inches off and the pull it out

Tapping the bottom of the pan isnt going to do anything unless the pan was dry and free of oil, with what oil film is left and that thin piece, its not going to bounce around.
