cannonball run Im going to be participating in the great american run 3000miles of nonstop driving. Im going to be driving my baby (1994 Camaro Z28 LT1). What will i need to keep the car cool and safe because this rally is going to be intense nonstop 24 hour 90+mph driving and even when i get into the desert ill be pushing and cruising at above 130+mph from Miami to L.A. what will i need to keep my car cool and prevent overheating, the only breaks the car will have is gas refills and wont be staying at any hotels... any tips? nascar radiator? extra fans?

Here's a tip for ya.....even if this "gumball run" is real, stop posting about it on a public forum! All you are goin to do is draw attention to you and the event. There are a lot of Police Officers on this site too. Geesh...

Definately pack a set of tools! They have saved my *** more than once. Flush your cooling system, oil obviously. Just make sure you maintenance everything and make sure its not gonna break down on you in the middle of nowhere. He has a point though, I would keep the locations and date to yourself, you never know who's gonna see it

Gumball is awesome. I would suggest maybe a cooler thermostat and a tune to get the fans to turn on earlier. Hypertech makes a 160 degree thermostat. The part number is a 1008. Also maybe a larger trans cooler and an oil cooler. A coolant flush and brakes are another good idea. Also a lot of money for tickets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

run with no t-stat it'll stay around 165 deg. maybe less under cold night conditions mine does 160 on cool nights ...run a mechanical temp gauge on the drivers head port, run a trans cooler with fan and gauge,run an extra oil pump gauge change all fluids front to rear and check often...run rear end gears in the 2.xx range for high speed low rpm 's ,run new balanced tires i would also take all seats except drivers for extra room for tires Or less weight ...IMO
No, it doesn't appear that you do care. And judging by your reply here and other threads that you have commented on, you don't have the competency to spell or even write a complete sentence. Let alone operate a vehicle at "130+" mph. I get the feeling that you, just like the people I have to babysit at work, are all talk and are living your Fast and the Furious dreams through the internet.
The way I see it, if you do not have the knowledge to properly set up your baby, and you do not have the financial means to have your baby set up correctly by someone else, you have no business driving in an event such as this.
With all that being said, check out some of the auto cross forums and look into Griffin radiators. Also, with running such extended times you might want to make sure that your transmission and rear end are up to par.

GAWD half the peeps in that video clip are dead.
I'd agree with the experienced guys to bring extra Opti's. Or better yet, run a car with a non-Optispark engine.
And yes, keep this stuff off the internet. Competition racing may be more than just a ticket in some states.
