Default LT4 knock module and water pump question

ok i have a 95 camaro, lt4 heads and intake, 383 stroker etc, odb1

was wondering if the 96 corvette knock module will work on my car, because those are obd2.

also i have deleted my heater and a/c and im now trying to clean up the engine bay, i currently have a hose running from the inlet to the outlet of the water pump where the heater core hoses went, can i just cap these off instead? i have heard some yes and some no, or is there just a water pump i can buy with out these built in?

do they make a smaller radiator for the lt1? if yes where can i get one

will need to replace oil pan soon, is it worth it to upgrade? if so which model?

thanks for the help!

i can answer the water pump blockoffs for ya. i capped mine off with absolutely no ill effects. temps stayed right where they were before. i initally capped them off with rubber caps and clamps just to see how it would react, then i removed the tubes and popped in freeze plugs in the holes.

The LT4 KM will work for both OBDI and OBDII.

You can cap off the hoses just fine. You can also block off the oil cooler bypass hose if you like.

There is no smaller bolt-in radiator. Anything smaller and you're looking at some custom mounting options. But the question is why do you want a smaller radiator?

Additional oil capacity is always a plus. I like the Canton 242T. Others have used similar models from Moroso, Stefs, etc.

Also did you put it in the tube part or did you remove the metal tubes and place the freeze plugs there?

you should be able to remove the metal tubes to put the appropriate sized metal freeze plug in

for a smaller radiator you'll need to go custom as joe said. tell them what size you want and a good builder can build it for you. but fyi, the factory lt1 radiator does more than an adequate enough job of cooling even a big lt1

im not worried about the cooling, its the clearance for my air intake

I find it counter intuitive to replace an adequate radiator with a smaller one just to clearance an air intake that will add negligible HP.

Those fittings won't come out as easy as you might think. Be prepared to fight with them.

In that aspect I agree, but the engine bay being somewhat organized and neat would make it more valuable for my needs, either way though I won't be purchasing one, the money doesn't warrant the expense

On a side note, any tips to remove those fittings?

What size caps did you use? ...I'd like to have 'em in-hand before I start taking hoses off

I have welded them closed in the past. And what would it hurt to pull the fittings out then bring the pump to a parts store and find one that fits? You're going there anyway.
