Magnaflow or borla cat-back
You really can't beat the adjustable sound of a borla with an e-cutout in the block off plate spot. I agree they are pricey, if you can get one used I would jump on it. Believe it or not, in my neighborhood my hotcam, midlength header, no cat, borla exhaust is considered obnoxiously loud according to the looks I get from some of the older people around here, lol. And that's with me leaving with the borla closed, lol. Can't wait to see there faces when I get the GM847 one of these days...
I got my borla used for 100 bucks. I maybe have 275 total in it after buying the e-cutout and using parts from my old SLP loudmouth system to make it all work since the one I got had come off a 94 camaro and had the wrong mid pipe on it to fit my set up. the loudmouth mid pipe fit good so I used it. That price includes the cost of the parts I used off the loudmouth.
I love how quiet my Borla is just cruising through town not drawing attention not droning on the highway. Beautiful exhaust note when you give it hell. Then if you want it lous open the cutout. For me personally magnaflow is good but it's as cookie cutter on these cars as flowmasters are on fox body mustangs. I got an amazing deal on mine used. If you can swing it I'd go Borla.

For the cost of a new magnaflow you can buy a used borla and e-cutout and have the adjustability to have it nice and mellow or wide open. Best of both worlds. The only thing to look for with the borla's is to find single out pipes as mine has the dual left pipe setup and thats whats holding me back from hacking off the gay square tips.
throwing this question out there too, would the loud mouth 2 by slp by less raspy and actually sounds good with pacesetters? Or still getting just too much raspy noise to sound good?
lets put it this way....I had one with long tubes and no cats on a stock car and 383 and I will never do it again. way too damn raspy at the 2300rpm range untill about 3500rpms. LM1 and 2 suck for rasp with no cats.
And catted though? After talking to some via youtube with a loudmouth 2 set up with LT's he said he would go with the magnaflow.

Borla sounds better, but is a lot louder too. Magnaflow is pretty notoriously quiet. I'd go middle of the road pricewise and get GMMG-which is one of (if not the best) sounding catback IMO...
Yeah I have the magnaflow right now. I hated since day one. The over axle pipe and one of the tail pipe were bent wrong. My drivers tail pipe was bent at an 82 degree angle not even 90. Currently up for sale. I have an old school non adjustable going in. I did call magnaflow and they would not do anything. Go borla. I'm may sell that one and buy a slp loud mouth.
