Make shift Y-pipe adapter
Just got my GMMG catback in the mail today
I plan on doing Pacesetter LT's and a Pacesetter Y-pipe in the near future, but I want to get the GMMG on now.
Here's my dilemma: My factory Y-pipe is welded to the I-pipe, so it will need to be cut off. I want clamp my catback in. As many of you know, the GMMG I-pipe is 3" so it won't be able to clamp right on to my factory Y-pipe. Here's what I'm thinking for a solution...
Weld a 2.75" to 3" adapter off the factory Y-pipe with a small section of 3" exhaust tubing welded to the adapter for the GMMG to slip in to and clamp it on.
Does anybody see any problems with this? The stock Y-pipe is 2.75", isn't it?
