throttle body coolant bypass it seems that i am leaking antifreeze from my tb into the intake. i went threw it and it looked good gaskets and wat not. i am gonna bypass the coolant from coming in and was seeing if anyone has done that?
Yea, I did this mod...pretty straight forward, only costs like $10; just have to take off the TB and re-rout the coolant hose that runs through it with the fitting they give you...that's it....it comes with instructions. You need new TB gaskets. Supposedly worth 2-3 HP due to reduced intake temps....it's only needed for start-up emissions reasons in very cold climates...you might as eliminate that hot *** water going through your TB especially if your having issues with leaks. It's also the cheapest "bolt-on" part out there. If only all aftermarket parts gave 3 HP per $10....LOL.

I just bought a 4 foot piece of hose and 2 hose clamps then tied into the main hoses at the factory T's bypassing the TB. Then tied the bypass hose out of the way of the belt with tie straps.

You don't need any parts for 95-97, but need the hose union and clamps for 93-94s. And you certainly could buy a 3/8 union and clamps at the hardware store for less than $20.

the most exspensive part is the 2 sided barb at the hardware store its like 6 bucks i actually tested this on a dyno. the first two pulls were stock the third pull was with the coolant bypass i gained 4hp the next pass i disconected the air cleaner box and moved the intake over the headlight out of the corner (no blower fan in front of car) and gained 17 hp total so the coolant bypass does actually change hp
