best LT's for LT1??

i have my mind set on JetHot LT's so far. anybody know the best place to get them??? and do they have good clearance? any other suggestions on different headers would be appreciated too

Spinner Feb 24, 2004 09:54 PM

Plenty happy with my jet-hots. They're the best ground clearance your going to get, mine hug the floorboard. ORder direct from jet-hot for the best price

Vendetta Feb 24, 2004 10:06 PM

do a search... this have been discussed many times before.

MA1384 Feb 24, 2004 10:42 PM

are the jet-hots better and/or cheaper than hookers?

warbird27 Feb 24, 2004 11:27 PM

does jethot make headers? cuz when i checked their website it seemed like all they do is coatings. im gonna call tmrw and get specifics.

Spinner Feb 24, 2004 11:50 PM

They make headers for the LT1. $510 or so + shipping for the ceramic coated longtubes. Same design as hookers with thicker steel, and thicker flange. Can be had with or without emissions hookups. A+ guys to work with, lifetime rust through warranty, 3 year free recoating.

I know that JET Hot makes JET HOT brand headers for 98-02 f-bodies, aside from the other brands they offer. But they only offer Hooker, Mac, etc. for 93-97. They don't make JET HOT brand headers for LT1's. :thumbsdow

:jest: That is incorrect, I have a set as many others do for 93-97 LT1 Fbody's, in fact they started making them for the LT1 prior LS1 cars. $509 delivered to your door with Air Injector fittings/EGR/two 02 Bungs and JetHot coated. You'll find a ton of folks on camaroz28.com using JH's on LT1s.

And to the original posted inquiry, you'll love JetHot, have had no problems with mine, fitup is good, remove your pass side motor mount jack engine up about an inch and it slides in (almost vertically). If your hooking up your air/injection there are a couple fittings you'll need (1) for each side, Sear's carries them in their hardware dept, plumbing fittings I think, or JetHot may have made the correct coupler side (double male fitting) by now, not sure.

Good luck you'll love em.

I'm one of those from CamaroZ28.com using Jet-Hots. I believe that the LT1 LTs were out before the LS1 version. Either way I'm very please with my headers. My collectors have a couple of small rust spots but I could really care less.

That's great to know. The only reason I thought JH did not make LT's for LT1 was because I did not see it on their web page. I only saw JH LT's for LS1. Thank's for the info. I'm almost sure I'm gonna get the JH for my LT1 now.

where to buy

Can someone please post the phone number of where they bought the Jet Hot headers from. I didn't see them on their website. Thanks

25thBird Feb 25, 2004 10:52 PM

I'm sure it's the 1 800 number they have on their web site. You think you gotta ask them for the LT's for the LT1 and they'll give you all the info.

warbird27 Feb 25, 2004 11:02 PM

its on their website, i called them today and you can get them with or without AIR fittings. very good service. mine should be in soon

Call 1-800-432-3379 to order

I didn't see JETHOTs for 93-97 Fbody's on their catalog but I never used their catalog before, I just called them and ordered. They are also making ypipes coated for our cars now too, although I had a custom with dual 3" cutouts built it's still cool they are doing them now.

Sweet. How much did you pay for them? What area of the country do you live in?

warbird27 Feb 29, 2004 12:42 PM

$530 shipped. i live in PA

The Cartel Feb 29, 2004 01:26 PM

Would you have enough ground clearance on a lowered car? I have the Eibach pro kit on my car, I'd like to get rid of my Edelbrock headers in favor of the JH LT's jus don't know if they have the clearance

Spinner Feb 29, 2004 07:22 PM

I have around 2 inches ground clearance at the collector with sportline springs. You should see 1/2 to 1" more then me.

The Cartel Mar 1, 2004 04:30 PM

Thanx bro, that jus might clear my driveway.

gearhead69 Mar 1, 2004 07:33 PM

I just put Jet Hot long tubes on my car back in october of 2003, and it was a pain in the ass. It was nerve racking because I'd get so close on getting them through and then they'd get stuck on something, you have to have patience though or you'll just get pissed and want to quit. They both go through the bottom, you have to jack it up pretty high cause they're long tubes. You have to remove the alternator, starter, if you a strut tower brace that too, air filter, MAF, all of your exhaust, you'll save around 80lbs. just on that alone. Be careful when you remove the driver side exhaust manifold, because I sheered of my coolant temp. sensor and had to replace it, it was about $8. Those stock exhaust manifolds weight about 25lbs. each. The headers I got were with the emissions hook-ups, I later decided to not go with the emissions and plugged the holes with a 3/4" brass plug locked in place with good ol' JB Weld. The headers cost about $650 from Jet Hot 1-800-432-3379 that's the all around # the tech line is 1(610)277-5646. I had to buy new header gaskets, just get the Felpro ones. I did have a problem with my VATS, (vehicle anti theft system) from constantly turning the car on and off it reset my cars computer and had to have a buddy come over and fix the computer for $50, trust me if this happens do not replace the starter like I did, the car will act like the starters dead, it will be the VATS. I threw all kinds of shit at this car, and it was a simple $50 fix. I know better now. I picked up awesome power and sound, it sounds so badass with open header, I ran that for about a month and a half until I got a custom exhaust made. I hope that answered your question. Good Luck.
