HELP! BRAKE light stuck on, not the switch!!
from looking at the switch, it looks like when the lever is down, the switch loses contact and the circuit is open, no light. pull the lever up, and the circuit closes and the light is on. so with the switch off the car, there is nothing to ground the tan wire and the light should be off....in theory. so does this mean i have a short somewhere? or is there something else that triggers the light?
as i mentioned in the previous thread, i deleted the abs using the sjm kit. the abs inop light came on, but the brake light seemed to function properly until almost a year later. people have mentioned a fluid level sensor on the master cylinder. i looked and there is no sensor or any wiring going to it. so what else could it be?
normally i wouldnt care, but they failed my inspection because of it. normally i'd just pull the bulb and call it a day, but i imagine the light has to come on when the inspector pulls the lever, so i'd fail either way. any help is GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks,
-Jake
