Does anyone know what the weight difference is from LT1 to LS1 front brakes? On the one hand the LS1 brakes are bigger, but on the other, the spindles look to be lighter and the calipers are aluminum vs. LT1 cast iron. Do they end up being about the same?

I don't know if there's a significant difference, but I feel like if you're going to be doing anything with the car where a couple pounds of front end weight makes a difference, you would rather have dual-piston calipers rather than single-piston.

That's a very good point. On the other hand, aren't wheel options better for the smaller LT1 front brakes? I've never had a problem with the braking performance from them. I only daily drive and occasional trips to the drag strip.....also I grew up with drum brakes so I think that effects my contentment with the stock discs. LOL I'm sure road course users would need the best ones they could get.

Sorry . Should have been more specific. I did do the front swap only. On my 94. To ls1. Was very easy actually, however. Even after bending the bracket on my lt1 lines I just wasn't comfortable with how stretched the line seemed to be at full left or full right, went and got some ls1 lines and all is good in the world

Sorry, yes you're wrong. The rear parking brakes are completely different between LS1 and LT1 rear ends.
You'll need to replace the cables with ones that match the rear.
Dorman C660142 is the cable that you need for the LS1 rear, two of them. About 16 bucks each at Rock, 22 bucks at Amazon.
As I recall, it was a little "tricky" to get the old ones out.
Of course, if you swap the LT1 rear back into the car, you'll need to go back to the original style cables.

Bringing this back up, I got the rear end hung and tried to string on my LT1 3 channel metal lines with the rubber outer lines and it doesnt look like it is going to work because they are too short and bent differently, and I cant remember if the LT1 brakes are on the rear of the rotor because the LS1 brakes are on the front of the rotor. I looked on rockauto and found that it is the same part number for 93-02 for the outer rubber lines, so that doesnt help. Do I really need the LS1 style metal lines? This is turning into a huge pain the *** I just want to get this damn car back on the ground.
