lt1 ready for boost?
well from what i can figure if you have a stock deck height with the common .039 head gasket your compressin is around 10.4:1 or so.........with a good tune......i dont see why it wouldn't handle 7-8lbs or so on pump gas and probably over 10lbs on race gas........gotta start small on boost and get the tune dialed in then slowly step the boost up as well as your tune......ive run ls1 motors on pump gas at 10.2:1 on 13lbs and they lived........apples to oranges but just an example........with a easy tune you should be good on 8lbs on pump gas
Yeah I agree with quik95 I would start low maybe 7lbs and tune it from there. Also does the block have 2bolt or 4bolt mains? With meth injection and a good tune I dont see why you couldn't crank it up to 10-14lbs. Also the cam might just work as it is. I mean a custom cam is great but for some reason turbos seem to like stock cams. If you have the cash, have a custom cam made to spec but if not save it for something else.

yea i think im just gonna keep the boost low for now. i gotta make a drive to nashville tn from florida in lesss than a month for college. so its prob gonna wait until i at least get to school or when i come back. dont wanna rush it and dont wanna run it there on a half *** tune
