Alternator Issues.

Alternator Issues. Why would a alternator only put out 11 volts while running and not 14+?
It just started this about a week ago. It fires up but it will not charge my battery. I bought a rebuild kit with new brushes, ect, and it acts just as it did before. If my alternator just shot after 18 years? Or is there another solution? On that note does any one have any suggestions where I may find a new one for a decent price?

If it can be tested, take it to a shop and see. Also if running a U/D pulley, could be in general not enough charging. But since you state the symptoms started all of a sudden, then I would opt to get it tested before proceeding.
