Default IAT trick to pull timing? stock lt1 100 shot wet.

I hear that any shot over 100 would need timing pulled. I dont want to tune the PCM to retard timing, I would do the IAT resistor mod. But my question is if it is actually necessary to pull timing for a 100 shot. Thanks

"Tricking" the IAC into pulling timing for nitrous is an AWFUL idea. If you don't want to tune the PCM then don't spray.

your question makes me wonder if you even changed the spark plugs.

Why would you want to throw a 100 wet shot at it and not have it tuned for it? Would you put a turbocharger on your car and not tune for it as well?

You spent the money on the shot, now send PCMforless 190$ and get the tune to go with it, youd only be doing yourself and your engine a favor.

I got tr6 plugs that I havnt installled yet. Im still installing the nitrous kit. I dont want to lose out on power when I am not spraying. Thats why I dont want to get the tune.

It would be great if you could use all that energy and ANSWER THE QUESTION I ASKED INITIALLY. I have been searching and seen a lot of people saying stock timing is fine for a 100 shot or less.

Perhaps you don't realize how ridiculous your question really is.

I must not. It would be great if people would explain their rational , instead of responding with bullshit. I am trying to get some responses on what I searched. It pulled up responses from other forums (few from here), which is why I would like to get feedback from here. I heard that the stock timing was fine (through google search pulling up other forums) for 100shot and less. Is that true? I was going to do the IAT resistor just for some extra insurance. I wasnt aiming my comments at you, it was for that other guy. I am a nitrous newbie, im just looking for some answers. It seems like when anybody thats new to something asks a question all the dick heads come out. It will take 50 posts before someone actually answers the question...smh

Well if you would have read the instructions for your nitrous kit then you would know they recommend you retard timing 2 degrees per 50 hp increase. On top of that a tune for nitrous while not on the bottle should only cost you 20hp or so. Why not have a tune and a remote bottle opener and be ready for anything at anytime. Spray without tuning wont run long.

Plenty of different responses. Stock timing is fine, retard timing by 2 per 50 shot above 100,retard timing by 2 per 50 shot period, use IAT resistor mod to retard timing, tune timing which will effect N/A power at all times.

This is my daily driver, some bolt ons. Im not looking to spray over 100 or 125 max.

Yeah, the instructions do say that. I was just wondering because I heard different things about timing. I just posted this to get to the bottom of it. 20hp is a lot to lose on a stock lt1, but if I have to tune it I will. Its not a problem if I really need it. Thanks

Thats a good idea. I hate when members play the "bash the newbie's post" game. I appreciate the help. Thats a consideration I may have to do.
