Is porting my tb and intake worth it
So backstory I have an 04 Silverado with an iron block ls1 and I wanna make 440-450 whp and 400-420 wtq it is my daily driver so I wanna maintain low end torque and drive ability. My plan is to add the torquer v2 cam along with tsp stage 2.5 ported 243 heads I currently have a tbss intake along with a ls3 tb and I was wondering if I ported these two would I gain or lose hp/tq? The transmission will be a stage 2 4l65e along with a 3400-3600 single disc stall on 93 and e85 paired with 4.11 posi in the rear

I bet no gain by porting the TB. I can’t say for the manifold.

I’m sending it to 454chuy on ig and ppl seem to like his tbss and ls3 porting work according to him he thinks I’d gain 20whp/20wtq from porting both of them

No gain from porting the throttle body. I got a throttle from ebay to practice porting on it, installed it and didn't feel a difference. The intake getting ported should make a difference but not a throttle body.

Instead of spending money on porting a TBSS and 90mm, and put a stroker crank in it to meet your goals.

You know what, look at a Fast LSXRT intake. By the time you spend all that on a ported stocker, the Fast is way better abd even that benefits from porting. Pick a better cam, too. That Torquerv2 is like 15yr+ old lobe design theory. I would take any of the Summit cams or even BTR before that.

that’s what I was gonna do at first get the lsxrt along with the NW 103mm tb but a lot of ppl and even a performance shop said stick with the tbss since it would hurt my low end and I’ve read bad reviews about the NW 103 mm that it wasn’t reliable and I chose the torquer since my original plan was to hit 400 rwhp and I wanted it to chop nice but what cam would you recommend?

There is a lot of bad info out there and I would pick another shop. The LSXRT will not lose any torque, if anything, it will gain overall. Porting that picks up more. The NW TB's are the best on the market and use GM drive motors so that's false info too. The stock 90mm w/ the LSXRT is probably the best overall for the $$$. Cam wise, either BTR stage 3 NA or Summit 8710r1. Very similar cams, I like the Summit for the $$$ and do some PAC 1207x springs or PSI 1511ML beehives with it. Don't fall into the .660 spring trap, they really don't last that long.

I seen a video that Richard holdener did where the tbss made about 5 more torque than the lsxrt but the lsxrt made more top end power and as for the tb a lot of ppl had the same problem with it but that was like ten years ago so I don’t know if the issue was ever solved. I’ll look into those cams but I was planning on gettin the pac 1209 springs will those work also?

You make power with good heads and a good cam, exhaust too. Get the heads right and you'll make power without a doubt. Here is a cool video to show what the Almighty LS1 can do:

I don't like the specs on many of the cams as they are too much duration @ .050 for the street. The Cammotion cam should be a mild cam and the Tick Perfomance a slightly more aggressive cam. Honestly look around so you can find something you like in terms of a cam.
