I'm in the same boat, since I bought my MSD opti I just can call it an LT1 anymore.

I don't think LS1 owners have to talk **** about LT1s, most threads I read in here, most LT1 guys talk so much **** about each other cars, set ups and so on, it's pointless for any one else to talk **** about LT1s.

Don't worry, as LS cars get cheaper and cheaper I'm seeing more and more BS and lame posts on their side of the fence too .

Everyone knows about the 2000 LT1. Its the one that came stock with the ported heads, stock custom grind 226 cam, stock kooks lt's, bmr suspension.

Im thinking he was adding to the sarcasm. As if this thread needed it

I still have a factory LT1 block, stock LT1 water pump housing, reverse flow cooling heads, stock LT1 timing cover...etc. To not call my car a LT1 is nuts.
Tony, you're a true LT1 car. I don't think the OP has any idea how many people change the heads, intakes, distributors, blocks, etc on LT1s, LSs, SBCs and BBCs. Doing so does not change the designation of the engine.

Yeah, it became bad when guys like the OP can buy 97s for under $4000.

But cut him some slack, I'm guessing he is a kid who is cocky enough to judge the fastest LT1 guys, when he probably only has a Moroso CAI and a Flowmaster catback.

yep.......the lt1 is now the old mustang 5.0 of the later days.......the average lt1 car is now dirt cheap so all the "know it all" kids are buying them up.......

trust me i have thought about it lol........my little dinky piston rings and little dinky lightweight pistons wouldn't like it too much though lol

maybe next time i refresh this thing ill toss a set of nitrous pistons and rings in it and spray it........its a billet bottom end minus the max effort NA pistons in it......

took my '95 Z down the 1/4 with 260,000 original kilometers, yes us Canadians are on the stupid metric system 260,000 km's = aprox 160,000 miles i had a slow reaction time, because i'm a Canadian lol,,, i hit a 14.1 @ 97 mph,,,,this is with an original clutch and original everything. i built a 71 Chevelle with a 489 stroker and hit a 12.1 @ 110 mph rv limiter kicked in about a 100 yards before the end...and this was on shitty T/A's street tires, 11.00 and lower i wouldnt be able to go again for the rules state roll cage and various other rules,,, not bad for my 1st roll with a 602 hp and 595 ft/lbs. 4.10 gearing is way to low for the amount of tq i pull...i am addicted to laying rubber at every chance i get,,,, it is very addicting with that amount of tq, solid roller rump and a 3500 stall.... this is fun.

the 14.1 is still pretty quick considering what i had to work with,, 60'-70's muscle cars had a hard time hitting that, but tires back then were ****, and they were bone stock, no headers,,,,right out of the show room runs,,,

Default 3.42's vs 3.73's

i dont think the 373's are gonna make any difference, especially if u have a 6speed, save yur $ and try to produce as much torque as possible,,, heads, cam etc. i put in 410 gears from a 3.08's (350 in a 71 chevelle)and although i was much quicker off the line i was unhappy with the passing on the hiway situations, torque is where it is at,,, horsepower ends the race but torque wins the race,
