Default Exhaust Advice

So when I bought my headers and y pipe, it came with a resonator at the end of the y pipe. It has a 2.5" outlet but its going into a 3" pipe. So I am looking into replacing it with another resonator/bullet muffler or replacing it with a regular pipe. What do you guys think would sound best with my LT1, pacesetter headers and flowmaster catback? (im not getting rid of my flowmaster . . . yet. So dont tell me to ditch it) I dont know if I should get a glasspack, xr1, loudmouth, moroso spiral flow, or just straight pipe. I dont know how exactly it will change the sound either. I just know that I want a deep tone and not as much raspy sound. Im not too concerned with noise level either. Just let me know what you think.

So would I be ok using a medium length powerstick In the I pipe and then still using my flowmaster? Or do people usually use only the powerstick?

I havent had experiance with the powersticks, but some guys do just use a powerstick and dump it/run it out the back. MasterTomos on here has a powerstick dumped I belive.

So if I understand correctly, from what ive read people say that having a bullet will not take out the raspy sound, and the powersticks will since it is chambered. But I dont know if they were still running it through another muffler or just dumping it.

you'll get more power with a powerstick since its in its name. it will sound fine with a muffler and the powerstick. Its not much more then a hollowed fancy looking pipe anyways. plus you will have more power!

The merge on the Y pipe is where a lot of rasp is created. A better merge that doesn't cause the air to collide might be a good investment. I'm running a magnaflow merge on my car, Its stainless doesn't seem to create rasp and its less the 30 bucks.

I like the design of the FM merge better but the magnaflow made it easier to build my exhaust around since ive got a magnaflow 4x9 dumped under the rear seat since it has 3" inlets and a 3" outlet. Where the flowmaster i would have had to either go to a 3.5" outlet "which is larger then the mufflers inlet" or go down to 2.5" inlet tubes. If I didn't already have a muffler with 3" inlet I wouldn't have had a problem with going with the FM and getting a 3.5" inlet muffler.
