Default LT1 T-56 Drill Mod?

Hey guys, I've been trying to search for an answer to this but I can't find what I was looking for.

Do the LT1 clutch hydraulics need the drill mod? Or is this only for LS1 cars?

May have the same restriction but is a non issue for us. If your peddle sticks on the floor of an Lt1 your slave and or master needs to be replaced.

The LT1 clutch hose DOES have a restriction also. Whether it has the same effect as the restriction for the LS1 line is debatable. Likely not.

The restriction is on the MC end but not on the fitting surface, it is down in the hole about 1" deep or so, right where the bit ends in the pic. In fact I can just barely fit a 1/16th drill bit in this hole small hole. The 1/8" drill bit will fit in the upper portion of the fitting, but stops due to the restriction about 1" into the fitting. I then ran the 1/8" bit in to cut out the restriction.

Cant tell anything on the SC end do to the right angle fitting.

Doing this allowed me to shift harder without occasionally grinding gears. Do it and make sure you get the shavings out.

Okay thanks guys, I'm gonna need a new clutch here in a couple months so I figured I would see if this was needed since i'll be down there.

My MC and SC work great yet so I don't think I will replace them.

I drilled mine on my car cause I thought it applied to all years, there was a restriction. I have no problems and it only takes a few minutes.

Prior to doing this mod I have missed shifts at the track, since doing this mod it seems to shift better now under those conditions, havnt missed any. Just my $.02 on it.

Would this help with no-lift shifting? That is the only time I scratched my head when shifting with this car, the only time I tried that back in 04 when I got this car. It just didn't feel right. Since that day I always come up off the throttle a little between gear changes if I'm racing the car.

^ Im not sure about that. But to me, this mod is very simple to do and only takes minutes. And since there is a restriction, it could not hurt. Now, i will say when I did this I did put in a new slave and since then, I do not miss any shifts and can shift faster. New slave? Combo of both?

That's how I usually shift at the track, i havnt missed any shifts since doing the mod, so I would say it must be helping.

Probably couldn't hurt to do the adjustable MC mod while you've get it all apart to do the drill mod...https://ls1tech.com/forums/manual-tr...r-writeup.html
