Default Best Quality 58mm TB on the market?

Well ive been hearing alot of stories about 58mm tbs being very sensitive under low load where it makes the drivetrain load and unload itself causing it to jurk a bit. I have a Professional Products and i know a buddy that had a Lingenfelter tb with the same issues. Its VERY annoying and as much as i dont want to downsize to a 52mm Holley i bought to try out that has none of these issues and no loud whisting either i dont want to loose power as there was a huge big decrease in air volume when i stepped down.

The general consensus is that just about all of them require some minor tweaking. I had no problems with my Holley 52mm other than having to slot the TPS, but my 58mm (also a Holley) needed the same and additionally some PCM work to keep the TPS from going too far past WOT.

In my opinion, the quality does not get any better than a TPIS throttle body.

I have been running a LPE/Acell TB for 12 years. Only problem I ever had was it sticking WOT twice when it was new.

im running a bbk 58mm, bought it with the motor. doesnt have a problem with the tps. it used to stick closed after a hard run but it hasnt done that in a long time. the linkage had some play in it. a quick spot weld fixed that. (play between the cam and the blades) other than that, drives great

Arizona Speed and marine was the best I have seen. I used a 58mm one on my last 355 build. Great quality and machine work on that piece.

Yeh the 52mm holley i have had zero issues it was top notch and didnt drastically drop the rpms down to the 4-500rpm area and bounce back up 750ish when i popped it out of gear coming to a stop. I know the BBKs are noisy generally and have issues with idle sometimes. I think if anything id probubly grab another Holley as i hear nothing but great things and they look plain awesome. AS&M and TPIS are nice too but just alot of cash and dont find them up for sale used alot.

Thanks!

My bbk 58 was garbage.

TPIS 58 is worlds better. Hasn't given me a single hiccup.

I have a Holley 52mm. I did slot the TPS to make sure it was spot on with the readings, although I am sure it would have been fine for 99% of the people out there. Other than that it has been a quality piece.

Arizona speed and marine here. They are a work of art and never once a problem. Pricey but well worth the wait and the $$$$$

My Holley I had to make a throttle stop because the blades actually opened past WOT. Other than that quality is nice.
